Headteacher Message

Mrs. Jennifer Evans

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week has been incredibly busy for our Year 10 pupils. After finishing their End of Year assessments last week, this week these pupils have had the opportunity of attending a Duke of Edinburgh skills training day, a trip to the annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) Fest, and college taster days at both West Lancashire and Winstanley Colleges. Next week, Year 10 pupils will have their Work Experience Week and will gain an insight into a variety of work types across the borough. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the organisations that have offered placements to our pupils for this upcoming week, and for the invaluable experience that this has afforded to our pupils.

Also this week, Dean Trust Wigan pupils have showcased their phenomenal talents in the performance of the musical Matilda JR, and we have also exhibited some fantastic Art and Photography pieces submitted by Year 11 pupils as part of their GCSE portfolios.

Finally, I would like to remind parents, carers and pupils that there are just two weeks left of the academic year, but that attendance remains of the utmost importance. Pupils need to be in school every day in order to benefit from the diverse learning and extracurricular activities the school has to offer.

I wish you all a restful weekend.
