Headteacher Message

Mrs. Jennifer Evans

Dear parents and carers,

This week marked the last day of secondary education for our Year 11 pupils. I am immensely proud of every pupil in the year group for all that they have achieved during their time at Dean Trust Wigan. This group of pupils who have been with us from 2019-2024 have had to adapt in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic and home learning, they have persevered through changes in leadership at school, and they have demonstrated impeccable resilience in returning to school after a tumultuous and uncertain period of time in their educational journey. I sincerely hope that all pupils will look back on their time at Dean Trust Wigan with fond and happy memories, and I hope that lifelong friendships have been formed here. I know that the future is bright for all of our pupils, and I wish them every success in this next chapter of their lives. I look forward to seeing what our pupils continue to achieve, and hope that pupils will continue to Believe, Achieve and Succeed.

Pupils in Years 7-10 have made a fantastic start to assessment week and have sat a number of exams this week. It is important that pupils continue to attend school every day to ensure that they have the best possible chance of success.

For our other year groups, I am delighted that so many opportunities have been offered to our pupils this week, including trips to Liverpool, leadership opportunities, and sporting tournaments for both football and rounders teams.

Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you to all outgoing Year 11 pupils and their parents and carers who have generously donated their blazers, ties and PE kits to help support our school community. We will be organising a uniform swap for those pupils who have outgrown their existing uniform, so keep an eye out for more information about that.

I wish you all a restful weekend.
