Headteacher Message

Mrs. Jennifer Evans

This week, pupils from Years 10 and 11 had the incredible opportunity to attend an assembly from Adam Corbally from the Apprentice. The talk focussed on resilience, choices, and motivation, and the feedback from these talks has been very positive from the children. In particular, Mr Yates (Head of Year 10) would like to commend the Year 10 pupils on their engagement and behaviour during the assembly. Well done all!

Congratulations also to the Stars of the Week for each year group this week: Kenziie McD (Year 7), Grace H (Year 8), Fatima S (Year 9), Macey – Lea G (Year 10), and Alfie H (Year 11).

This week has been our penultimate week before breaking for the half term, and so I must please ask you again to make sure that your child is coming to school every day. Attendance at school has a direct and positive impact on a child’s resilience and their ability to use healthy coping strategies when faced with stressful triggers in a range of environments, and so it is important that pupils attend every day to benefit from the rich curriculum, extra-curricular activities, and reward activities that we offer.

Please note that from Monday 26th February 2024, the school gates to the car park will be closed from 2:45pm-3:20pm each day, mirroring the arrangement in the morning when the gates are shut when pupils are entering the site. This is because the volume of traffic accessing the school site between these times is causing a safeguarding concern for pupils.

As always, I hope you have a restful weekend, and I look forward to seeing your child in school next week for the final week of the half term.
